The Gopes have no position beyond being able to implement the Democrat policies more efficiently.

Senators like Collins/Kirk may lean left (however neither voted for Obamacare) but do you really think the GOP as a whole has the same foreign policy as Obama? And the same policy on abortion?

You are shooting yourself in the back by opting to have Reid control policy with Obama the next 2 years.

In foreign policy Republicans cannot get away from the desire to NationBuild. That is ultimately no improvement. It pours tremendous resources down rat holes and leaves the "pacified" countries in worse hands than before, which is what Obama does consciously, or have us "democritizing" them forever or until the voters get tired of it.

Republicans could marginally improve the abortion situation in some places but would be too timid to actually defy the Unconstitutional courts. The judges now are mostly Obamanites and with Republicans in the majority they will double down on all facets of Death for the Masses and the Republicans will just say, well it's out of our hands now. Republicans will NOT end Obamacare and all its attendant rules and other laws with which it is built. There is too much profit for them in maintaining it and "making it fairer." The Republicans are not a separate entity. They are the subsidiary wing of the Government Party which is run by the Democrats and will continue to be run by them no matter who is the numerical majority in the House and Senate.

The Republicans could have shut down Obamacare with just control of the Senate, if they were an opposition party. They could have cut off all funding. But Republicans say they fear they will get "blamed" if they let the Democrats shut the government down. If the government were really shut down, and the House can do that, really shut it down- to only the Military receiving funds, the Left could not last out the two years until the next change of Congress. By passing all those CRs the Republicans are saying that they have no intention whatever of cutting spending or cutting regulation or anything else.

When EPA prices American industry entirely out of world markets and almost entirely out of American markets the Republicans won't even cut off funding for EPA. They will say well we just have to deal with it and pass some exemptions and some minor mitigations. It is long past time where a change in "parties" will make any difference at all other than the tribal difference of now it's Our Guys in charge of the totalizing State instead of Their Guys.
