time for all republicans to go on college campuses and shout about how the DEMOCRATS want to use young men for cannon fodder, and to send them off to die a la viet nam.
if done right, it’ll cost the dems the youth vote.
Let’s draft him first.
If you’re denying that WWII did have the side effect of repairing the US economy, then you’re denying history. If not for that, then FDR’s monetary policies would have kept perpetuating the depression.
Yes, Ike was not credible. Really. Mr. Biggest Public Works Project in US History. Mr. Imaginary Military-Industrial Complex (it was true off US shores, but not on) and Mr. Run Away From Korea, never mind Mr. Help The Commies By Ending McCarthy(ism). He did not waver from the postwar leftist course.
And as for Truman, his firing of MacArthur was the start of the weakening of US foreign policy against the Second World, which has come back with a vengeance and on our own shores to boot.
“Loosen the flag”? Do you have a red flag around your head, I now wonder?
No, no red flag.
I am sick of us spending billions of dollars to bomb people who are not a threat to us. If we bombed every Aram/Muslim radical that said they were going to attack us, we would be out of bombs.
I think these guys have more interest in Boeing and Raytheon stock than they do the citizens of the US.
Just tired of half measures that do nothing but keep the natives pissed off.
I agree with you.
Rangel may well get his longed-for draft. The abuse and misuse of the military, its feminization, it’s obsession with PC, its manifestly incompetent leadership, will eventually erode even the staunchest patriot’s interest in serving. There will soon be a serious shortage of manpower to carry out the quixotic missions the lunatic henhouse at 1600 PA Ave scheme up. The draft will come back.
What people have we bombed that are not a threat to us? That’s liberal propaganda. So is mentioning Boeing and Raytheon when not strictly in the sense of cronyism.
The one thing I agree about is the half measures. That is what is killing both military and industry here. But that’s according to the liberal plan.
It is about more power for the government. As always. More taxes and the draft. The basis for the draft is that the government owns people. Something every Democrat can get behind. The idea that a person’s life is his own is a foreign and dangerous concept for these people.
Just like the 60's!
I think folks are misreading Rangel on this one. He's a criminal to be sure, but he's no dummy. If a war required a war tax and a draft, there would be massive protests, as you said. That fact would perhaps force the government to think hard before launching a war.
I don't think Rangel is simply advocating for more taxes here. I think he really is trying to put a brake on the rush to war.
Early retirement from this world? He’s way past due for that,in my opinion.
We need at least 60 divisions to do what needs to be done, and we won’t get them without conscription.
Where is there proof that ISIL was ready to attack us? Other than the bravado that most Middle eastern idiots rant about?
Oh, we have Peter King’s word for it? Or a memo that was leaked at just the right time?
This is nothing but Obama wanting to take out Assad, as he as done for the past year. Now he has his way. And all he had to do is point and say, “Boo!”
Come on, if your kids presented you with this type of evidence you would laugh them out of your room.
The criterion is not impending attack; if it is, then that’s starting at the point when it’s too late.
Notwithstanding, there is a lot of grandstanding with respect to IS(IS/IL) on the part of liberals, and I agree that it is highly suspect especially when such strong overtures are being made towards Iran begging for their “help”.
I agree and maybe my inference didn't come through.
I also agree that Rangel is certainly no dummy.
This wog long ago used up his brownie points (”I honor Mr. Rangel’s service in Korea blah blah blah yada yada yada...”) from his military service. Oh, maybe about the time of the 10,000,000th abortion that he vociferously supported.
You left out the Dindu Nuffins!
So if Rangel is “no dummy”, can we presume malice on his part?
Yep!
Hmmm. You're right, of course. Do you think Trayvon will accept a posthumous colonelcy? XO might be offered to Dorian, Michael Brown's pal from Ferguson?
That should make the un-Worthy Oriental Gentlemen of ISIS sit up and take notice
