The backs of the battered secondhand vans carrying the dead were closed with twisted, rusting wire. Bodies were dumped in new graves, and a worker in a short-sleeve shirt carried away the stretcher, wearing only plastic bags over his hands as protection. The outlook for the day at King Tom Cemetery was busy.
We will need much more space, said James C. O. Hamilton, the chief gravedigger, as a colleague cleared the bush with his machete.

Ping!
One million by january. Science channel has some specials on it tonight. Interviews with Dr Brantley and the lady.
Yes, did you want to tell the world’s terrorists that the United States Army is now afraid to enter Africa, because it’s ability to face and deal with biological agents was all a myth, and that Ebola and Sars, and anything else they can get their hands on, will keep us from even showing up?
Part of the Army’s mission is biological warfare and infectious disease threats, well, we have one now, and it looks too serious to ignore.
Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
You should go.

I would love to go back into the military for the third time, would you like to join me or have you already served enough?
Now we have to prove we’re not afraid? How about we prove we’re not stupid.
With these numbers we’d have to put in a hundred hospitals every month... Doubling every 6 weeks?
How do we get this virus to the ISIS controlled areas of the world?
Is that what you think the mission is in Africa, build one bed for each patient while remaining passive otherwise and the medical community just waiting around to see how high the numbers go, or do you think they are there in an effort to end the outbreak, through a combination of actions?
When my dad got back from Vietnam, he forbade me to join. Else I would likely have been a career Marine like him, Nixon or no Nixon.
Musta been pretty bad, WWII and Korea didn’t make him think that the military was a bad career path.
Do you think they can build a million beds by January?
Air drop infected corpses onto the IS camps.
ansel is on record as adamantly insisting that every American infected with Ebola should be flown back to CONUS for treatment.
LOL, you should ask the mods to remove that post.
You really have an aversion to truth, don’t you?
We’re gonna need a bigger cemetery!
No, I don’t, that is why I posted post 11.
Is this going to be one of those threads that consists of the ignore Ebola crowd making nothing but flippant remarks, cracks, put downs, and insults?
Yeah. And some, even here, want it here.
