A 59-year-old woman who was being kept alive by a ventilator after she was plowed down by a speed-demon bicyclist in a Central Park crosswalk has died, her family said Monday.

What does the Mayor have to say about the results of this little transgression of his laws?
A friend in college was hit by a bicyclist and suffered a broken arm.
She was “walking while white.”
The San Francisco version of this crapweasel got probation and community service. No time in at all.
The scarf is enough to convict on.

Vehicular homicide is appropriate... why worry about four wheels versus two? It’s a type of negligent manslaughter, regardless of the number of wheels on the vehicle, or whether it’s gas powered, electrically powered, human-powered, or gravity-powered.
So sad...sorry to hear this.
The cyclist had bragged about his speed records on a cyclist app/site, I’d read. Last I heard, he’d not made a statement, or apology, but had retained an attorney.

I got into a shouting match with a group of cyclists on the Golden Gate Bridge years ago. They were speeding across the bridge on the same sidewalk that Mrs. 40 and I made the unforgivable mistake of walking on. Dumbasses were doing at least 35mph weaving in and out of pedestrians. They had the same mentality that is shared among many cyclists, they think sidewalks are for bikes and pedestrians should get out of their way.
Do not blame the black guy. He seems to have a good background. What it boils down to is who had the right of way here. I have seen nothing on this so far. He has not been arrested so my suspicion is that he had the right of way

I was struck by a cyclist, and suffered a severely broken shoulder.
The incident took place 14 months ago, and since then I have has 3 surgeries.
The law enforcement for the jurisdiction refuses to enforce the posted speed limit for the multi-purpose path.
That be the one. He is, however, melanin challenged.
