I like it that the guys who have changed the world through technology are now going after bigger even more interesting problems. Bezos wants to compete and surpass NASA. Richard Branson isn’t exactly in the same league, but he is trying to get into space. Thiel wants to crack the aging code.

This is, for me, very cool.

I have no fear of physical death, I’m already going to live forever. But among the things we are here on earth for is to learn, build, create. These guys could focus on building ever bigger houses and buying ever faster cars, but they probably already have them. So what now? Go after the mysteries of the physical universe.

An extended lifespan will be useful for interstellar space travel. If the voyage to a star takes two hundred years, it would be good if some of the passengers who embarked could actually finish the journey - not just their great-great-grandchildren.

ME TOO! And as I stated in my previous post, it's much more than that, it's the offspring or unintended discoveries that will truly advance mankind..........
