I’d suggest that if you are a haole, best stay away from Hawaii and its nativist racists. I speak from experience. Hawaii is a viper’s pit of socialistic envy and gibsmedat mentality. I’ll never spend my money in Hawaii.
One of my best friends in the 1980s had been stationed at the Schofield Barracks. I had never even thought about it but he said the native Hawaiians are very hateful to Whtes.
And yes, there is a racist element although we got on nicely with the locals. Probably fooling ourselves.
I noticed that there were very few “natives” in government there. All whites and probably rich Liberals. Probably haolees, too.
There is also a push to make all power renewable which might make sense on an isolated island but would drive up costs.
Worst of all, a person would have to work in the tourism business. Yuck. Having to deal with tourists like me. Lol.
