After a long, unapologetic effort to defeat Tea Party candidates in GOP primaries, the Washington establishment will likely need Tea Party voters in November to help swing several tight Senate races and win control of the upper chamber.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee on Friday dismissed the notion that party voters are not united behind their candidates. Can you point to a race ? Its a false narrative,
Kevin Broughton, spokesman for the Tea Party Patriots singled out a few races, particularly in Kansas and Mississippi, but suggested his troops will rally for the general election.
Broughton said they will focus on such grassroots efforts as get-out-the-vote, instead of buying TV or other media spots.
All six Republican senators who faced promising Tea Party-backed challenges won their primaries, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who in March boldly predicted he and the rest of the Washington establishment would crush far-right advocacy groups and their candidates.
I dont think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country, the five-term Kentucky Republican told The New York Times.
The other wins came in Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Kansas, where the NRSC helped incumbent GOP Sen. Pat Roberts to victory with more than 40,000 phone calls in the final three weeks of his campaign.
In Mississippi, Tea Party-backed candidate Chris McDaniel forced GOP incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran -- who had strong inside-the-beltway financial and grassroots support -- into a runoff to retain his seat.
Politico described the contest as a flashpoint in the GOP civil war.

I think that there are some individuals that post on Free republic that are going to vote for him because he is a Republican.
then quit posting on FR, move to ohio, and actually do something about it
“mending fences”
They won’t build a border fence but they do want to keep conservatives out with a new fence
lol
And the Republicans who intend to amend the terms of the theft if given power are also my enemies.
USING HARRY REID AND NANCY PELOSI AS WHIPPING BOYS FOR ALL THEIR WRONGS DOESN’T CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE REPUBLICANS HAVE NO INTENTION OF MOVING US AWAY FROM THEIR POLICIES IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OF FORM. AMERICA’S DECLINE MAY BE SLOWER, BUT WILL CONTINUE IF WE GIVE THE GOP POWER.
You are two decades too late with this recipe.
We conservatives, however, are rapidly approaching the inflection point at which the fate of the country no longer depends on saving the country from Democrats because Rinos in charge at best only delay the reckoning.
Uhmmmm .. 'rapidly approaching'???? I say that is rapidly past and over now. The reckoning is at our door and the consequences are now unavoidable. There are myriad laws that the Ruling Class have exceedingly violated, laws of economics for example that, like gravity, will exert it's force upon us all due to their gross violations.
Soon, if not in this election, there will be no reason to vote establishment Republican because it simply won't matter.
We are already there. Many simply choose not to accept it because they are infected with a fatal case of Normalcy Bias.
Why the hell would any sane and thinking person vote for a candidate and party that declared WAR upon you and your principles/faith and vow not only to crush you wherever you are found - but state publicly that they will ensure you can never field a candidate in a general election??
Well...not in Mississippi, or apparently Kansas - I suspect the latter will come back together in time as long as they get with it - and I do mean get with it - by the end of September and expose this so-called "independent" as the liberal that he is...but in Mississippi - they did not win fair and square like in the other races. It's one thing to be heavy handed - what happened in Mississippi is not excusable. They encouraged - or at least had no problem exploiting - the racial divides the Democrats create - to influence the outcome of the primary and had no problem whatsoever having the voters of the other side overwhelming influence the outcome of the race. What happened in Mississippi was a travesty - no question about it.
The Spite was theirs at first and flung at us with malice. Blowback is a bitchand well-deserved. I loathe and despise them more than I do the Democrats, because at least we know who and what they are.
This is our opportunity to secure a concession from the beltway boys.
Whatever you are smoking must truly be mind-altering.
Let them go to the Chamber of Fascism and their crony Marxists for votes and concessions. That is who they are beholden to besides making sure the Ruling Class in Washington operates according to Club Rules.
then quit posting on FR.....

Damn, JohnBrowdie, you are an effin’ RINO aren’t you. Now you want to suppress a Conservative’s right to Free Speech on a Conservative website. DESPICABLE!.
And I pray that the Conservatives of Mississippi will never forget the travesty that Cochran and Barbour pulled off and will NOT vote for Cochran on Nov. 4. If I lived in MS, I’d vote for the Conservative Dem on the ballot. He is Pro-life, Pro-Second Amendment and ANTI-Same sex marriage.
NEVER FORGET MISSISSIPPI; NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!
While noble, few to none are looking at reality.
The Ruling Class in Washington, the Dictatorship they established in the Executive and the corrupt judiciary will render null, void and irrelevant ANYTHING that comes out of the Convention that is ratified that the Ruling Class dislikes.
Reference the state Constitutional amendments and laws passed by a majority of citizens against Homosexual marriage that have been stuck down, abolished, ignored and made illegal.
A lawless government will not allow itself to be restrained by any civil means. There is no remedy to hold onto our liberty and stop this tyranny by any civil means. Fact of history and human nature.
Few have the guts to accept it.
They may get my vote. They will never get my money.
But this is an entirely different assessment from such pessimism as you advance which says that the difficulties are so immense that we should not even try:
There is no remedy to hold onto our liberty and stop this tyranny by any civil means.
That is the counsel of despair.
Ah, well. I already cut my lifelong ties with the Republican Party when the GOP elites trashed and backstabbed Palin. It proved to me that the GOP no longer shares my beliefs nor my values. Mississippi just confirmed it all over for me again. I left most of my 2012 ballot choices blank (including for the presidency), and I’m sure I’ll be doing the same this coming November.
Only bona-fide “tea party” candidates get my vote.
I never said anything about not 'trying'.
I have an issue with people who tell me that an Amendment V convention can save us from tyranny without the need for uncivil means.
I think that idea is as foolhardy as the idea that simply voting for more Republicans will save us.
History teaches with absolute clarity that tyrants cannot be stopped from imposing their tyranny by civil means no matter what is attempted. PERIOD.
A lawless ruler and class that is a law unto itself does not consider itself bound to the will of the people they rule or whatever laws and policies they enact to limit the encroachment upon their liberties.
I have heard no plans or any discussion about how any Amendments passed and ratified would be implemented upon a government that will refuse to comply with them.
The entire Oligarchy in Washington and the national judiciary will never allow itself to be restricted by such ways.
The tyrants would have to be removed from power before the Amendments as ratified could be implemented.
And if you think that will happen in a civil manner - you are ignorant of history and the clever wickedness of human nature in a corrupted culture.
That’s a good question. Or what is it they’re running from?
