What a complete piece of crap article. NOBODY hires lawyers for parking tickets...how is paying a lawyer cheaper than paying a pkg ticket? This is otherworldly stupid.

You do have to hire a lawyer if an infraction turns into a felony bench warrant.
Not every one can pay $167 traffic tickets or even go to traffic school.

I doubt these are parking tickets. Drivers licenses do not get suspended for parking tickets. Moving violations yes but not parking tickets.
By not paying the fine or showing up in traffic court to contest the tickets, she was deemed guilty and sentenced to pay a fine. By not paying the fine, she could do jail time. That is the only options the court has according to the law, but now, she is a “victim” and may escape any consequences for not only disobeying the law(s) but being a scofflaw.

Correct. It is COMPLETE BS. It is an embarrassment.

The good news, once she is picked up on the bench warrant a public defender will be assigned.
The bad news, tax payers will pick up that tab..?
