Sorry everybody, I’ve heard this all before and the end-of-the-world scenarios never happen. Y2K, AIDS, swine flu, bird flu, years later people can’t even remember what the fuss was about. I will focus on keeping my own immune system healthy instead of fixating on yet another world-ending disaster.

Thanks for your opinion.

I encourage everyone to keep their immune system healthy...daily exercise is one of the best contributors to robust health.(Take your vitamin D too...I take 10k IU daily)
BTW, you left out economic collapse, SARS and MERS.

Ironically, just this week I began eating from a case of tuna that I stored away in 2006 in preparation for the H5N1 pandemic. It tastes great.

So....

If that’s what you really think then why are you not spending your time elsewhere?

Tell that to the people who got blood tranfusions and died during the early years of AIDS. Tell that to the kids today who are being hospitalized for Enterovirus-68. While it may not be the end of your happy little world, these diseases are the end of the world for the victims and their loved ones.

Aids has killed about 36 million people so far, and kills about 1.6 million every year.

WHO, CDC, Survivalists, THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF...

Sooner or later the BIG ONE is going to hit...go ahead, be an Ostrich, stick your head in the ground and you may get screwed...

Me...I will continue to be a Scout (my family does not even need to know ALL the ugly facts), I will be prepared for the worst, while I hope for the best.

I just finished "The Hot Zone," Richard Preston's account of Marburg, Ebola, and Simian Hemorrhagic Fever outbreaks in Germany, Africa, and the United States. This is NOT Y2k, AIDS, swine flu, or bird flu. This is the real deal. People dying of Ebola have ONE BILLION copies of the virus in each cc of blood -- there are TRILLIONS of virions (virus particles) in each dying human, all mutating and all highly infectious. The HIV only infects two types of immune cells; Ebola first infects white blood cells that disable the body’s ability to destroy foreign substances, then it seizes nearly every cell type. Healthy cells literally burst, turning you into a pile of mush. Infected cells that haven’t yet burst carry the virus through the bloodstream to invade different parts of the body like the lymph nodes, spleen and liver. When infected cells attach themselves to the inside of blood vessels, it weakens them, causing fluids to leak.

A potential natural disaster of this magnitude has not has been seen on earth since the Black Plague.
