I’m Irish, I have family in Dublim I go to Ireland its as Socialist as it gets. So is Scotland my friend and so is the UK, Germany, and every other EU country. Liam Neesan is a good decent guy who was raised to be a good Socialist and he is. I expect nothing else from him.

1—No, you are an American. An American of Irish blood. Big difference. Be proud of both, but you are an American. An Irish or Scottish person is someone born and bred in that nation, brought up in its culture.

We roll our eyes over here when people from the US say they are Irish or Scottish or English or German. You aren’t. Its great you love your heritage, but your aren’t Irish or Scots. You weren’t born or raised there. Its culture isn’t yours. The culture of 1700 or 1850 may be, but the one of 2014 isn’t. I have Norman and Flemish blood, but I don’t think I am French or Belgian.

2—As for socialism, there are tens of millions of European conservatives, conservatism has surged back in popularity in the last few years as Europe leans more to the right, including the UK which has a Tory-heavy coalition, and a Tory Prime Minister, and you know that UKIP, a real conservative party, is the fastest growing party in the UK, as similar parties gain traction across Europe. Europe has and is moving right. To say ‘all Europeans are socialist’ is just stupid.
