“These words are not in the article you posted, they are yours.”

Your comment is a lie as demonstrated by the second paragraph: “Putin made this statement during a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko....”

Hey WhiskeyX, have some integrity.

If you are going to butcher the words of an article to deprive it of context, don’t call people a LIAR when they point it your improper quotation.

The original article said,
“According to the newspaper, Putin made this statement during a conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko”

In other words, the only source for the quote is one man, Poroshenko, who would be highly motivated to twist Putin’s words and recall them out of context. The claim should be viewed with skepticism. This is called HEARSAY, and is inadmissible in any court of law.

But the way you cited the article, you wrote only, “PUTIN MADE THIS STATEMENT”, as if it was an absolute fact that he said it. The opposite it is true, it is highly in doubt.

What if the conversation went like this — “Hey Putin, you are doing a full scale invasion of east Ukraine with your army!” “if it was true, we would be in Kiev and beyond already”. Does it mean Putin wants to invade rest of Europe?
