House Republicans are quietly discussing a proposal that could fundamentally alter the way future speakers of the House are chosen, according to multiple GOP sources, with the objective of avoiding a repeat of John Boehner's embarrassing reelection vote in 2013.

just another extension of the DC oligarchy. If I’m not mistaken this is a power play similar to what the beady eyed Harry Reid did when he changed the rules of the senate so a simple majority confirms Obamaâs judicial and other agency appointees. If I am incorrect please feel free to update me on the Reid action.

People forget the Republican Party WAS a third party that split from the Whigs over slavery, among other things. Six years later Lincoln was elected president.

Twelve House Republicans refused to vote for Boehner's reelection in January 2013 at the outset of the 113th Congress. This level of dissent was insufficient to oust Boehner from the speakership, but served to embarrass the speaker and publicly air the party's dirty laundry. The incident infuriated Boehner's allies, who claimed no opposition was voiced privately during the conference electionsan affront to the traditional process of keeping internal campaigns private. Lying like democrats...
If they don't want to be "frustrated" then don't nominate bonehead.

Yet another thing that explains why the GOPe is coming short this time around, funding-wise.

Anymore proof that voting Republican is an exercise in both insanity and stupidity?
There was a coup folks. A velvet coup.
And the Ruling Class of the GOP knows wants a seat at the table of the new MarxoFascist dictatorship they have helped construct.
As such, the federal government no longer has any legitimate authority over a Constitutional and biblically-adherent people.
It is time to refuse them. It is time to defy them. It is time to ignore them.
And when they come to force themselves on you, you will find yourself in the same shoes our forebears found themselves with the despotic tyranny they needed to resist.

They’re scared of losing their perks and privileges. Anybody needing legal maneuverings to stay in power - companies or individuals - simply cannot compete on the merits.

Does anyone want to know what happened to The Contract With America once it was passed? How about the possibility of any future such reforms the GOP "could" have brought about? John Boehner was the driving force behind ending such change and he's held congress to compliance with The DEMs with an Iron Fist since the late 1990's.
Boehner was the one who engineered the GOP-E takeover of Congress forcing out Newt. Not defending Newt's personal acts but rather I'm pointing out Boehner's behind the scenes manipulation.
