Yeah, I guess I was posing more of a rhetorical question. I understand that this stuff works. It would be nice, though, if people on the national level would get up and address the Surprise one it happens: that our “leaders” are breaking scandals on their opponents or causing genuine crises purely in the interest of their own job/power security. And it’s even really worse than that: it shows contempt for the people. As you point out, a lot of the people are deserving of that contempt, and the manipulators have judged them correctly. It’s just that the rest of us have to pay the price for it too.
