I have been, each election since Bush the elder's first election.
The short term gain strategy of voting for lesser evil to keep a greater evil away from power has taken us to the same place.
Each election the same as the one before, the same choices, the same arguments and the same results.
And we're just distracted enough or just forgetful enough or just stupid enough to keep repeating and repeating the cycle.
We're stuck in a loop and given just enough cheese to keep it spinning and just enough fear to not let it stop.

I will point out the successful tactic long used by the NRA. They query candidates as to whether or not they support gun rights. If the Republican says "no" or seems squeamish, they back the Democrat. If the Democrat says "no" or seems squeamish, they back the Republican.
Over time, they have managed to get majorities of both parties to support their principles. As unpleasant as it is, voting for the Democrat is sometimes necessary because it is the only whip you can apply to the Republicans, and sometimes they badly need some whipping.
