I agree. I am not quite as downhearted as you, let the YES hype settle and lets see how devo max and a possible surge in Labour/Tory/ukip support away from the Nats takes us over the next few years.

Hope so. I’ve read that there has been a surge in SNP membership though. The Bats have been galvanised and the younger generation mostly voted yes (only 29% 16-17 year olds voted no) doesn’t bode well for the future unless something is done to arrest this anti UK rot that is setting in. They’re already whining about WM not keeping their promise because of a couple of Tory rebels objecting to the promises that have been made, but I think we’ve earned at least a 15 year breathing space to work through the issues. One thing is for sure, I think Holyrood is going to have to be handed most of the tax raising powers to govern their internal affairs, so that any future SNP government can’t simply blame Westminster for everything bad that ever happens in Scotland.

If we could have a national referendum on a topic of such importance, believe me, there would be an equal turnout.

I wish you were right but I don't think that would be the case.

Have you seen any of the "man on the street" interviews?

I imagine there are plenty of “those” in Scotland. If the options are “yes” and “no,” then the choosing is easy.
