Quebec and Scotland are much alike in that they depend on a lot of financial assistance from Ottawa and London respectively. They’re culturally alike in that they both like to complain extensively about how they’re being “ignored” by Ottawa and London when in fact, both capital bend over backwards to accomodate them.
When push came to shove, Quebec wouldn’t leave (albeit narrowly) and Scotland won’t leave either. It’s too much fund to complain and demand things and not have to concern themselves about how they’re gonna pay for it.
