A new poll today in Kansas shows independent Senate candidate Greg Orman faring well against pro-life Sen. Pat Roberts, who has a long and extensive pro-life voting record in Congress.
One national pro-life group says Kansas voters who dont know much about Orman need to be aware that, though he is an independent, he would be just another pro-abortion Democrat working with Harry Reid to stop pro-life legislation in the Senate.

Yup.
Maybe. But he's not Pat Roberts, and apparently that might just be enough.
If Roberts loses he has absolutely nobody to blame but himself.
NO, Roberts has a near perfect voting record on the issues I care about.
If Roberts does not win, it is the fault of IDIOTS who claim to be “conservative” but are full of envy, pride, and spite.
Kansans on this forum understand quite well who Greg Orman is and what he stands for. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they support Roberts, we have some sore heads who are determined to lose.
The Orman campaign depends upon liberal Republicans (yes, Kansas has quite a few of these), clueless Independents, and Democrats. Without almost all of these groups in large numbers, Orman loses. I’ve seen plenty of ads on the Governor’s race and some Orman ads, but Roberts ads have been scarce since the primary. Perhaps Roberts thought that he could coast to victory after defeating Wolf. The fact that Roberts is having trouble with Wolf, Orman, and Taylor is a sign of weakness for Roberts, not strength for these lightweights.
Roberts needs to start some serious campaigning, not just talking to the Chamber of Commerce in Johnson County. I don’t see any evidence that he’s doing it.
Yeah, it's never the loser's fault, is it? If Roberts loses it's because he's an establishment Republican who treated the conservative wing of the party with disrespect, who has spent 40 years in Washington and is out of touch with the electorate, and because he's forgottent that Senate seats are earned and not annointed to him by the Almighty. In other words, Roberts is the poster boy for everything the public hates about career politicians.
Roberts ran through most of his money during the primary. I would assume he's conserving what he has left for an October media blitz.
Pat Roberts has endorsed and helped and contributed to and endorsed COUNTLESS conservative candidates in Kansas.
Pat Roberts SUPPORTED Ted Cruz on the filibuster.
Pat Roberts has a perfect prolife and NRA voting record and Roberts is great on tax matters as well.
YOU are the problem.
Look in the mirror. Ask yourself:
“When did I stop caring about legislation and start worrying too much about my pride”????
You're blind to what's going on in your own state. On the ballot or off it, Taylor's supporters will go overwhelmingly to Orman. Independents will probably split somewhere down the middle between the two. That leaves the moderate Johnson County Republicans. The ones who kept Dennis Moore in office for 10 years. The ones who elected Sebelius. The ones who saw their more moderate state legislators targeted and defeated by the conservative wing of the party. Orman's from the area. You don't think he won't take most of the moderate vote? If you honestly think that then you're the one who is insane.
My hope is that pro-life people who might otherwise be disenchanted with an imperfect Senator work hard to re-elect the man.
Let’s see:
Roberts....
1) Is pro-life
2) Is pro-traditional marriage.
3) Is pro-drilling
4) Is pro-gun
5) Is pro-Keystone Pipeline
6) Voted against Obamacare
7) Voted against the Porkulus
8) Voted against Dodd-_Frank
9) Voted against Cap and Trade
10) Voted against BHO’s SCOTUS appointments
I could go on and on. Is Roberts perfect? Of course not. No one is. But he does have one of the most conservative voting records in the US Senate. I guess the definition of RINO has changed in recent years. It would be sheer insanity to throw away this US Senate. PURE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My problem with YOU?
YOU ARE HELPING ORMAN!
That is what makes YOU “insane” (If of course, you are truly a conservative, you are working against the cause, and so is cotton)
Yes it is a tough race. Guess what? It would have been even worse with Milton Wolf, who is not a conservative at all!
I think it's likely that Roberts has that voter demographic sewn up, those that vote. But will it be enough? A lot of these people supported Wolf. The idea that they will automatically switch over to Roberts may be optimistic. They could well stay home.
How is sticking your head in the sand helping Roberts? All I'm doing is stating the obvious. If that's helping Orman then he's in better shape than we all thought.
Yes it is a tough race. Guess what? It would have been even worse with Milton Wolf, who is not a conservative at all!
If Wolf had won it'd still be a three man race and Orman would be the one being pressured to drop out.
Not so much insanity as a hissy fit because their guy lost the primary, or worse, a plant.
Childish. Completely immature and yes CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Candidates have won on less than that. Witness Obama in 2012.
Roberts is in trouble but he can still pull this election out once people realize what a fraud Greg Orman is. I am confused and frustrated by the glee expressed by many on this forum. Pure foolishness.
People need to think here. What lesson will be extracted from a Roberts loss? The GOPe will point to his conservative voting record (which his critics are ignoring) and say 'See, a conservative has a hard time winning even in Kansas - they went for the moderate instead.' A Roberts defeat will only reinforce the message of the GOPe and encourage a rush to the moderate middle. You Roberts critics, is that what you want?
