Recently the NRA came up with some type of BS as to why we can’t get .22 ammo. Said it was due to the extremely heavy market for the ammo. If that were the case, the factories would be expanding to fill the need so I don’t believe it for a minute. We all know the reason.

Now, for the lowly .22; it is the most common gun (pistol and rifle) in America. There are literally billions of these pistols and rifles. If we have to actually fight a revolution to save what is left of our rights and country, no amount of military weaponry can even come close to match the combined firepower and deadly damage that many patriots with .22s can inflict. Every town and city would be bristling with .22 weapons.

Now (with a little thought) how could the government overcome this? Yep, that’s right....control the .22 ammo market. Not for today but for the certain militaristic overthrow of our free society in the near future.

Gun purchase authorization forms are only the beginning of this movement to enslave us and these little “drip, drips” of useless information requests are simply the start of something much bigger. It’s like a cancer. Leave it alone and do nothing about it and it will surely grow to kill you.

All y’alls tinfoil is on too tight. This hispanic/not hispanic thing is just more dumb government red tape. It’s got nothing to do with gun confiscation, race-baiting or anything else. It’s just the result of some liberal do-gooder getting her panties in a wad because “hispanic” is not a race so we have to change the forms. This change applies to all federal forms. BATFE just handled it clumsily — as they often do. There are so many frustrating things about the 4473 form. This one is relatively minor.

For the first year or so after the hispanic/not hispanic question was added, dealers didn’t even convey this information to the FBI when using the online NICS system. They only got asked about question 10a if they called in the NICS check. Only recently has the FBI updated the online version to include 10a. Having gone through a ATF inspection recently, I can tell you the only thing they can about is that one of the boxes is checked. They don’t seem to care which one and they don’t take any note of it.

A couple of other points:

All y’all who talk tough about putting smart-ass answers on your 4473, know this: you’re just increasing your chances of getting a DELAY response. Play nice and you’ll likely be in and out the door with your gun in no time. Screw around and you may find yourself going away empty handed and coming back a couple of days later. If you’re buying from a place like Walmart that won’t release a gun without a PROCEED (instead of simply waiting three days) you may never get your gun.

And yes, the article is basically correct. The 4473 has had a race question for years. The split into 10a/10b — separate questions for race and ethnicity — happened about two years ago. Again, it’s no big deal.

Finally, it’s pretty clear that some of you guys never buy guns, or haven’t in a long time.

Yep. The Feds are the reason we cannot buy 22 ammo. They figure if they can’t take our guns, they can take our ammo.
