Sure it’s warmer. Whatever rocks his boat. Good for him, he’s earned the cash to do as he wants. (Me, I’d get bored there after a few weeks, though.)

Anyway, the point was: if he’s so passionate about Scotland, why can’t he be bothered to spend his life there? I.e., is he a hypocrite?

Eh...I’m passionate about Texas. I have the means to go there. I choose to remain here. Does that make me a hypocrite?

Must one establish residency in a place before one can express an opinion about it, or a preference for its destiny?
