I'm not happy with the award. Two capsule designs. And the panel talking about innovative designs. Pfft... If it was to be two awards, should have two different type of vehicles.

Also, I agree with you on who should get the lion's share. That being said, I think SpaceX will deliver more for $2B than Boeing does for $4B...

I agree that SpaceX will probably deliver more. I don’t necessarily have a problem with two different capsule designs, they are both quite different from each other. SNC’s Dreamchaser is a nice idea but I’ve been unimpressed by their execution of it so far. I think that’s highly unfortunate because I want to see another space plane succeed the shuttle. But I do see the attraction in the “old standard” of Boeing’s command module but I’d rather it be a fallback in case SpaceX’s more innovative DragonRider fails to pan out. Unfortunately I suspect Boeing as a company will not be content to wait in a holding pattern forever, and the cost of finishing their development is probably considerably more than SpaceX. I really don’t like the situation, it feels like it’s rewarding Boeing for inefficiency.
