Yep. Last kit from Heath was a 19" black and white portable TV that my wife and I assembled, perhaps in 1970. Earlier, I had also built one of their VTVMs and a Benton Harbor Lunchbox (HeathKit Two-er). Around that earlier time-frame, I built an EICO GDO, an FM Tuner and a Multiplex Adapter for it. I also built an Allied Knight Kit Superregen AM/SW Receiver (probably my second kit), and a Knight Kit RF Signal Generator, Signal Tracer and Audio Generator.

Now all the amateur-grade test equipment is imported, available at Fry's.

Fry's is the righteous replacement for the Radio Shack store. They have everything RS ever had, and more.

Fry's does have a lot of stuff. I dislike being treated like a shop lefter just to exit the store. What the heck am I going to stuff into my bag between the checkout and the door?

I like the local electronic surplus store a lot. All kinds of treasure to be had there.
