The NFL is hiring four women to serve as advisers in shaping the league's stance on domestic violence, according to a memo from commissioner Roger Goodell to the 32 NFL owners sent Monday.
The full memo, via Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal, can be read here. The gist of it is that the league attempting to change the outside perception of how it handles domestic violence and, hopefully, an earnest effort to change the actual process internally.

My comment is more directed at people who limit their opposition to domestic violence only against women or by men. In TV ads and shows, laughter follows men being slapped by women. That would not happen if a man hit a woman, nor should it. I saw one show recently where a woman said she could rip off (a man’s private parts) in 100 different ways. Laughter followed. In a preview for a show called “The Good Wife,” a woman slapped a man in the face. We are sending bad messages especially in pop culture, a liberal domain. This isn’t a legal issue. In the political world, politicians will plan and even curb their speeches to only include violence against women. Scott Brown did it in Massachusetts when he ran against Elizabeth Warren, likely trying to siphon off her female supporters.
I love rugby. I played it in college as the hooker (for those in Rio Linda, the hooker was in the middle of the scrum and would “hook” the ball back to his teammates). No timeouts and if you were injured you had to find your own way back to the sidelines. But the parties afterwards were something else.
I see a lot of rugby teams forming on the high school level and even younger. So there may be hope after all.
My response was aimed at men, but I agree with what you say, too.

So much sobbing and thrashing about over domestic violence and little boys pointing finger-guns at each other but many of the same people vehemently defend the abortion killing of more than 1,000,000 babies in the USA every year.
Is it acceptable for a hulking football player to beat his wife or girlfriend?
No.
But the same people who are offended by that have no problem with an abortion doctor giving birth to a perfectly healthy baby then killing it by jamming a pair of scissors into the baby’s brain.

Exactly. The Left has its sites on politicizing the NFL, and it's full steam ahead.
Here's one of those old time tough guys. Not only played Defensive Tackle, but also Offensive Tackle, often the whole game on both sides of the ball. In the off season he rassled.

Actually, that’s a good point. If some dumb “kept woman” doesn’t mind being K.O.ed by her Afro Attack Dog, why should I care? Why is government involved in Major League Sports at all? And in getting all elements of government out of MLS, let’s make sure that no government entity can issue bonds or spend taxpayer dollars on sports facilities. I am fine if the divorce between the government and MLS is complete. BTW, they should also butt out of team naming too. Let the marketplace decide if a name is somehow objectionable.
