Home ownership has lost a lot of its luster for many people,
and not just young people, and not just in California.

Renting makes for easier mobility; avoids the ups and downs of the market;
and avoids getting hit with any huge unexpected maintenance costs.

Many are happy to rent an apartment or condo,
or rent a house and hire someone to cut the grass,
and let the landlord worry about everything else.

Hell, I’m considering it my own self.

Renting is very expensive in Los Angeles. And there are a shortage of units.

It’s cheaper to buy ... but that is not cheap at all.
