I know our local police chief once told us that the force spends most of it’s time on domestic abuse cases instead of traffic stops or anything else.
They assumed that they were walking into a domestic battle. You’d think they’d wait to make that judgement depending on what they found. I don’t expect cops to be rocket scientists but I bet the average hamburger flipper could make that call better than your police did.
I guess you’re right. They did say they were on my doorstep because my father could not get me on the phone. But pretty stupid to assume that meant my husband was beating me! I was just happy they didn’t shoot the dog.
