When the Baltimore Ravens released Ray Rice earlier this week, the NFL followed suit with its own punishment and suspended the running back indefinitely. How long that suspension may last is unclear, but it sounds like Rice plans to fight it. Citing multiple media reports, NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk says Rice intends to file an appeal Monday that "will be handled by the NFLPA and by an outside lawyer retained by Rice." Initially, Rice received a two-game suspension in July, after an initial video showed him dragging his unconscious then-fiancee, Janay Palmer, out of a casino elevator in New Jersey in February. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was criticized for that punishment, with many believing it was too lenient for Rice.

I am in good company, people who are close to these sports say the same thing.
You need to get over that emoting thing you seem stuck on.
These “people” who are “close” to sports are trying to protect their paychecks. This behavior is plain and simple criminal and disgusting.
And the bassturds are the ones destroying the NFL, not those exposing the criminal behavior.
“Susan Rice has been banned?”
Agree that’s great, but suddenly it seems like EVERYONE is named Rice!
First there is Ray Rice, then they are saying Condi Rice should get Godell’s job, then I heard Susan Rice on the news the other day, but it was radio news and I thought it was Condi Rice and I didn’t understand why she was defending the Obama admin.
Ye Gads, the very air abounds in Rices!
Correction, he received a deferred adjudication for entering a program which amount to a guilty plea until he fulfills his obligations.
Rush has pointed out that the NFL is clueless how to respond.
They will pay the price.
Puzzling to me how even foolish Freepers have jumped on the Liberal ‘Let’s Tear Them Down’ bandwagon.
I like to watch football. I don’t care if the players are serving prison sentences, as long as they put on a good show.
Have you watched the video? She was coming toward him to get in his face but it does not look like she was attacking him.
“He has not been charged with any crime....”
No he was charged, but people are saying the prosecutor went real easy on him too. It’s the same prosecutor who is throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the black gal who brought her Pennsylvania licensed gun with her to AC and got busted when she volunteered the info to the cop who stopped her on some relatively minor traffic violation.
I’m actually devastated over this whole situation, Ray Rice was really my fave.
But isn’t protecting gangsta thugs like Rice also racist, politically correct, and way too tolerant? Should he be protected by the league just so he can get away with acting like a typical aspiring rapper from da hood?
That would be, as Bush 43 called it, the soft bigotry of lower expectations. Which is exactly how black athletes are treated by the NCAA, NFL and NBA whenever they act thuggish or get caught doing something far below acceptable standards of public behavior.
Ray Rice is a scum bag; but, he did not murder anyone like Ray Lewis did; and did not solicit underage prostitutes like Lawrence Taylor, and he is in the Hall of Fame. Those are far worse offenses.
When Ray Rice sues, he is going to win, and win big. The NFL is going to be forced to reinstate him, especially since the courts already dealt with it and he got no jail time.
As awful as it was, it is not an uncommon example of what happens in today’s world, especially in families without father figures.
“Puzzling to me how even foolish Freepers have jumped on the Liberal Lets Tear Them Down bandwagon.”
More like the Conservative ‘We Respect Our Women’ bandwagon. There is no excuse for somebody to punch out their girlfriend.
I recall whoopie claiming the Vick debacle simply a “black cultural thing “ . So what are are whoopi’s culture words today ? Just asking .
Why, we had a president who at least one eyewitness said did one of those things, and may very well have had the other done by his order.
She looks like she takes a beating on a daily basis.
Both would be ex post facto.
Now yes, there can be a “gentleman’s agreement” for the Ravens to waive Rice and no one to sign him but for the league to indefinitely suspend him after suspending him for two games would be double jeopardy.
Now I’m not sure if the NFLPA has such an agreement with the NFL but I would be surprised if they didn’t.
Keep cheering the destruction, and keep telling yourself it’s for a good cause.
She had just spit in his face when he decked her.
