“wow.....that added nothing.”
So say you, but I am not alone based on the communications I received from others on the subject. Enjoy your beer!
“Then there was everyone wearing the pink crap for a month. “
I don’t follow football and didn’t know about this. I suppose the army will soon have a pink uniform.
I’m a woman and wonder how the heck this happened?
.
The teams are owned separately.
The owners have formed a/an (association, relationship, union, league), to administer the operation of their league.
So yes it is a union of sorts, kind of like the united states is a union of states.
...except one big, bitter dose of truth.
Ray Rice has already pleaded guilty and received counseling in a diversion program for first-time offenders.
To arrest him again for the same offense would be ludicrous.
The press just doesn’t want anyone to understand those facts.
Its condoned behavior that seems especially bad in football and basketball.
Back in the 80s one of the Spartan star basketball players at MSU kicked the door off my sister’s apartment for having his Lamborghini towed away. She managed off campus housing and he repeatedly parked his car in front of fire hydrants or something.
A bunch of MSU administrative staff showed up for court to testify what a fine young man he was. The judge fawned over him and gave him a slap on the wrist. My sister was warned about rocking the boat.
and yes ... the Atlanta Hawks owner should not be forced to sell his teaqm over truthful remarks he made years ago. I used to go to NBA games . . but not now! You think you’re going to get mugged by the time you wander through the sea of rap music, garish tatoos, and other ghetto paraphenalia!
actually it’s called a “league” - look it up. You used that word in the same sentence as players union, which is a LABOR UNION.
he had a a Lamborgini while in college??? Hmmm.....those inner city Detroit kids are doing better than I thought.
“... the worst example of male behavior that our society has seen.”
Really? REALLY?
I’m thinking that having an affair with a young lady, driving while drunk with her in the car, running off a bridge and leaving her to drown while you try to cover your sorry @$$ - THAT is a far worse example of male behavior.
I say this: If Kennedy was allowed to remain in the Senate, Rice should be allowed to play and Goodall keep his job.
I think what Rice did and what Kennedy did are disgusting - but nobody died in that elevator.
If Goodell had imposed a harsher punishment than he did the argument right now would be about his history of racism or some such.
The media wants to take the heat off Ray Rice and make him and his wife a victim of the racist NFL.
We're expecting that women act like ladies and men act like gentlemen...ain't gonna happen.
you are ignorant. I am not an NFL fan, just watch it casually and enough to write about it - which I do. I do not drink beer while watching TV - and I’m not fat - and the league is just not full of steroid black guys.
You and the other drive byes who buy into your infantile rant are why some people laugh at the Freep nation as a bunch of ignorant bigoted out of touch old curmudgeon. Your comment was exactly that. All of that.
I don’t remember which one he was but he became a major NBA star. He was at MSU in around 1985 or so.
It was bitter, but not the truth. . Maybe 10-20% true.
This must have been written by someone who didn’t realize that the NFL doesn’t even get many beer sponsorships anymore compared to what they used to - which used to be almost all beer or shave products.
Dude, 1973 called and said “wake up.”
Sounds like someone sent him a nice advance.
Appeasement never works. This is not happening because the NFL is doing the right thing. It is because the NFL is run by liberals, and they don't understand that what the leftists are trying to do is destroy football so that American men aren't doing or watching something that is manly. It's that simple. If a soccer player hit his wife, it would not be on TV.
I am for criminals to be prosecuted and sent to prison. I am not for the NFL to be put in the position of prosecuting them. If someone is convicted of something heinous, like killing dogs or knocking his fiance unconscious, and keeping them in the league would be bad for the league, I have no problem with them being dumped by a team for business reasons. But not because they are hounded out of the league by feminazis who have an agenda that is anti-football.
Football players are not required to be choir boys. The bar association will disbar you if you are convicted of a felony, because a lawyer must be honest and ethical, and follow the law. I don't think the same applies to football players. If they drive drunk, get in a fight, cheat on their taxes, abuse drugs that are not performance enhancing, it has very little to do with the NFL. The NFL should create a policy about when they will penalize a players' criminal conduct and when they don't, and then follow it, not come in after the fact because of pressure by leftists. Appeasement never works. This, together with the concussion issue, and whatever the leftists want to go after next (Redskins?) may take down the NFL.
I don’t think that’s necessarily true, but beside the point.
In context, of the words you wrote, your first post was based on a very flawed foundation.
If you meant more than that, you should have said more than that. You can’t un ring a bell.
You're starting to sound like a Tea Party hater.(ahem)
“and the league is just not full of steroid black guys.”
Correct. I actually saw a white guy sitting on the bench the last week.
don’t give up your day job.
