When I commented on
the original non-story posted on Free Republic it was obvious that the firefighter had made a big deal out of nothing. The story was then run by the local media without first checking with the police for the rest of the story.
If I was his Captain or Lieutenant he would be on probation until he personally apologized to the police officer and sent a letter to any of the media people he had talked to explaining how there was no racial component to the incident.

Thanks for linking the FR post, I hadn’t seen that.
It seems to me disciplinary action is warranted, police and fire usually cooperate smoothly due to being at many incidents together.
