Declaring yourself a Yellow Dog Democrat is the same thing as declaring yourself incapable of rational thought. But hey, he "inherited" his politics from his family so no choice in the matter.

Maybe he could do “an intimate history” of the Bushes?
To: PJ-Comix
It’s a shame.
Those early documentaries of his were masterpieces. But he just couldn’t shut-up and make films that people genuinely liked.

I’m looking forward to a well-crafted miniseries that will show us all (in spite of Burns’ bias) the unmaking of the American dream during the Roosevelt century. Will be taking notes.

He should be beaten just for that idiotic haircut.

You're firing a machine gun at a gnat. Over and over again.
Pointing out that Ken goes on and on about race, but lives in one of the Whitest states in America ought to be enough.
Recommend by passing all this "What Ken Burns said in the last century and what he thinks of his parents" stuff and going directly to the Reason review for something of substance about the series.

He’s not bias says the guy who made an entire documentary declaring rapists innocent solely because of their race.
To: VanDeKoik
His “Civil War” series was a massively biased misrepresentation of history.

Oh.
His ‘The Seventh Inning’, the history of baseball was a masterpiece.

Even if you end up agreeing with your parents in the long term, at some point, a rational human being questions and tests the assertions of truth laid out before them. You come to your own conclusions, even if they were biased by your upbringing, a rational person comes to those conclusions on their own terms, not just because their parents saw the world the same way. Intellectual dependence is the acceptance of ideas, beliefs, concepts, and conclusions of other men without understanding the steps that led to them.Such men attempt to function on the higher levels of a complex structure of knowledge without having established the requisite base of knowledge.Their mental activity consists in building confusion on confusion, instead of knowledge on knowledge.Their beliefs and opinions are detached from facts and from cognition.

I always wondered if he was born a guy, he seems very effeminate and there’s a few photos of him out there where he seems to have breasts while wearing a tee shirt, plus his middle name is Lauren. Hello! Lauren?

Just think of it. We live in the freest, richest, least taxed country on earth, and still to them the best government ever invented is somehow not good enough. There is, of course, a honorable tradition throughout the two centuries of our history to rein our government, to ask tough questions of our elected representatives, to demand a more accurate accounting of its finances and affairs, to insure the power of states and individuals in exquisite tension with the Federal Government Wow!
He certainly cant say any of that any more.

Self Proclaimed Yellow Dog Democrat Ken Burns Denies Political Bias in His DocumentariesRead: everyone watch my new documentary.
BTW Burn's claim is laughable. Everyone says they're unbiased, yet everyone is.
What matters is the reason behind their bias.

Mario Cuomo narrating “Baseball? “ If he hadn’t already lost me by opining that the black female professor who ruminated whether the Civil War was truly over when “Some people live in houses and others are homeless” was his favorite part of the presentation, he would have lost me with that odd choice.
