You say this:

The pictures give lie to those who claim this was some out of control rage.

So, just to be clear, you're okay that (a couple days after the fact), a 4 yr old boy has marks on his body like that? And that they don't constitute any form of "out of control rage" or abuse by the disciplinarian? In your opinion, those photos represent a normal and acceptable form of discpline?

I think Balding_Eagle had a typo - lie instead of life.

I’m telling you this; When children were raised, and disciplined as they were 50 years ago, this was not uncommon.

Now, people like you want to try this whole new touchy feely way of raising kids, feral children, especially in the Black community.

The history is irrefutable, although I’m sure you’ll continue to try, the ways of 50 years ago produced far more civilized young people.

I know you don’t want more Travon Martins, but you’re being too afraid to allow those who know best, the parents, to do the things needed to prevent them growing up and entering our society as feral beings.

You may have the last word.

It looked like about 10 or so switch marks, and we’re told that they bled.

Having been switched before, that little slender limb moves real quick. A mom with a switch was a fearful thing. You could get switched 5 times in a second or two....back forth back forth back...

So, I don’t consider 10 swipes to take more than a few seconds. They would have been delivered before they even began to bleed. They bled because apparently the kid was bare legged. And we’re talking a pro athlete. The Ray Rice story shows how strong these people are.

So, I don’t necessarily see an out of control rage here. I’m betting on a quick switching by a guy stronger than he probably realizes against a bare-legged kid in a short amount of time with welts rising afterwards to a breaking/bleeding point.
