Yeah...they have no storytelling creativity. Been that way for a long, long time.
Only “sequels” or poorly done remakes of classics will do
All flash and glitter, no substance
Actually, if I'm going to see something that's all flash and glitter, I'd go to the theater to see it. Might as well get the full experience. Big Explosions on the Big Screen, Surround Sound, etc etc etc.
Trouble is, I've not seen anything much that's worth the dough. Took WBill Jr. to see the latest Captain America flick (not bad, it was worth the price of admission) this spring. Before that ....... Geez, it would likely be the *prior* Captain America flick a few years ago.
Setting the quality and entertainment value aside for a moment, what I don't get is people who pay full price to see "Emotions, Pillowcases and Scented Candles III" in the theater now, when it will likely be on the Lifetime Channel by late fall. Sandra Bullock looks the same on TV for free, as she does on the 50' screen at $15 a pop. The Big Screen doesn't improve the crying and overacting, nor does it help the script. :-)
