War on men. One bad moment and a career could be ruined. Should what the Senators ask for also apply to other careers. They seem to tolerate Ted Kennedy being Senator for life after killing a woman.

I am shocked and disgusted that many of these senators were ever elected!

Sixteen female senators from both parties...

Should mind their own damn business.

They should agree to that if congress would have a lifetime ban on lying. Lets see how far that goes.

Just the NFL? Why not all major sports? I’ve heard that there has also been domestic violence in the WNBA.

“Senators ask NFL to institute no-tolerance policy for domestic abuse”

I feel domestically abused by senators. How about a ban?

This posturing would have more weight if the Senators also indicated that such a rule should be applied to the political class, and expressed formal regret that Ted Kennedy was not expelled from the Senate, and that Bill Clinton survived impeachment.

Isn’t ‘domestic abuse’ what these senators have been doing to taxpayers for decades? Should they not then be subject to a lifetime ban on holding public office?

Only upon clear convincing evidence or conviction, never as a result of allegation or accusation.

Worried about football while Obama is burning America.

This is a horrible idea. What wife will report domestic violence if it will kill her golden egg?

Ray Rice should claim he is gay, and that his isolated moment of violence was an act of frustration caused by his life in the bigoted, straight world of professional football.

And yet most of these same women revere the Kennedys and Bill Clinton. Let’s face it the NFL is in the feds crosshairs because they are a successful corporation that makes tons of money and that doesn’t sit well with these people. This goes beyond Ray Rice. What he did was heinous but this is a law enforcement issue and the civil authorities needed to handle it not the NFL. From the concussion cases, the furor over the Redskins name, and now the Rice case isn’t it obvious the feds are trying to take down another successful American corporation. Rush is so right when he said the NFL executives have no clue what is truly happening to them and who they’re up against. This is not going to end well for them.

What the hell is The Senate doing trying to tell The NFL how to run it’s business???

The Senate can’t run it’s own “business” very well.

Since they were not at home and not married, this would not be classified as “domestic abuse”.

Instead it would be more properly defined as a Bar Room Brawl.

"Tragically, this is not the only case of an NFL player allegedly assaulting a woman even within the last year,"

The operative word is "allegedly". Boxer and her little band of outraged female Senators are way out of their league on this one. Domestic violence in general should be condemned by the sisters as it is by most civilized people, not specifically the allegations towards NFL players. Dog fighting, assault and drug convictions have not deterred players from returning to the field after serving their sentences. Holding the hammer by which a female can "allege" that she suffered a violent act should not be conclusive on the part of NFL; Due process is a result of the court system.

Solely based on the video, Ray Rice should be criminally charged. Now that he is married to the victim, would she be compelled to testify?

Here we go!

The entire world is on fire, Ebola is spreading, Russia is like a drunken teenager with car keys and our Congress sticks their nose into the NFL.

My God this is broke.

Next they will be grilling Dr. Oz. Oh, they have already done that.

Excuse me while I get this bad taste out of my mouth.
