Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) on Thursday characterized Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) as being deliberately confrontational before abruptly walking off the stage at an event meant to raise awareness for Christians in the Middle East.
Cruz said some in the crowd the night before reacted with "bigotry and hatred" when he expressed his support for Israel early in his speech.
"I support Israel, but what Senator Cruz did was outrageous and incendiary," Dent told The Washington Post. "He showed a true lack of sensitivity for the people he was speaking to, especially the religious leaders who were there. It was a political speech, inappropriate and, overall, an uncomfortable moment." Dent attended the event sponsored by the group In Defense of Christians. He said Cruz seemed to be speaking to another audience, speculating it might have been done to rally Tea Party activists. The group is aimed at advocating for Christians persecuted in the Middle East.
He was speaking to people outside of the building," Dent said. "It was a willful and deliberate confrontation, and very self-serving."
Cruz cut his remarks short after only a few minutes. In a statement issued near midnight, Cruz said he had been booed while expressing his strong support for Israel and the Jewish people.
I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America, that those who hate Jews also hate Christians, and that anyone who hates Israel and the Jewish people is not following the teachings of Christ," Cruz said. These statements were met with angry boos."
The Texas Republican then walked out after telling the audience he would not stand with them if they did not stand with the Jewish people.

Sen. Cruz has a way of smoking out the quislings in the GOP. It appears they are too stupid to realize that they would be better off keeping their mouths shut and not reveling their weakness.

Cruz isn’t very smart to speak to a group of persecuted people and tell them they have to support another persecuted group - OR ELSE.
When is Cruz going to tell the Jews that they have to support the Christians or he won’t support them.
Oh - he won’t do that. I wonder why. hmmm...
Sounds like Mr Dent needs to grow a pair.
What happened to Reagan’s 11th Commandment?
Dent is such a tool.
Cruz has lost my vote.
Yea!! Like he ever had it!!!

Charlie Dent is like all other establishment republicans: a lying carpetbagger willing to peddle his own mom if he thought it would make a buck.
Right. Sure you do.
Keep in mind that had he not confronted and walked off, the same press and the same RINOs would have played it the opposite, that he was pandering to anti-semites.
Yep - Dent has no problem with illegals...but a problem with Cruz. Pure RINO.
Well, I do vote in America. And I do tend to favor my own interests ahead of foreign countries. It doesn’t seem too much to expect from a POTUS — of either party.
As a resident only of Texas... (;)...
I could not send my comments to Congressman Dent...
about his criticism of Senator TED Cruz.
So...I will send my comments to Speaker Boehner who rewarded Congressman Dent with a position on the Appropriations Committee...
http://www.speaker.gov/contact/
Hope YOUALL don’t mind...
I included some of YOUR
comments...with quotation marks...
Speaker Boehner pleas pass these collected comments on to Congressman Dent who has been critical of Senator TED Cruz.
Congressman Dent,
What some are saying:
“Interesting to note that the conference leadership issued a public apology for the memberships behavior the next day.”
Congressman Dent...YOUR
APOLOGY is needed NOW.
PERIOD
“Dent is a simpering joke of a man. There is not moral comprehension in him.”
“Cruz is a man of clear conviction who spoke specifically to the conference and its membership. The conference leadership spoke forcefully against those so called Christians who tried to silence Cruz. Dent not so much.”
As a Republican representing a district with Democratic leanings, he sometimes crosses party lines on legislation.
“Dent - 44%(Average) - 36%(Heritage) - 43%(CFG) - 56%(ACU) - 41%(FreedomWorks)”
“To liberal republicans like Charlie Dent, conservatism is ‘outrageous!’ “
“The Status Quo establishment versus patriotic conservatives. SOS.”
At least they know we are watching, waiting and moving forward to replace them...
Dent didn’t like it because Cruz did not pander to the bigots. RINOS pander and expect others to grovel as well. God — is this refreshing to see someone speak truth to bigotry.
If Israel fell would you be proud to call yourself an American?
Not me.
