You might be right.

Also the militarization of police is horrible. That Pentagon stuff should be given to the National Guard and only brought out if a Governor feels it's absolutely necessary. To routinely have police departments with war surplus is intimidating. Same with Homeland Security... having attack helicopters landing in American cities is thuggy... at best.

Automation. Robots are cheap and expendable therefore do not need to kill when threatened, nor would that ever be legal. Catch ferals with a net and send them off to a walled city for the rest of their life. It accomplishes absolutely nothing to catch criminals using military assault tactics then release their catch a few hours later.
