hah hah I bought a Mercedes just this past summer too,..... a 1996 with 140K miles on it, for 3K total.

It is great, paid off AND affordable.

He bought a +/- $30,000 car eleven years ago. It cost approximately 1/3 of a year’s salary (at the time).

That hardly strikes me as excessive.
