A Republican Senate candidate in Oregon is bucking the GOP by embracing gay marriage in a new campaign ad.
The ad, from the campaign of Dr. Monica Wehby who is challenging incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley, prominently features a gay couple Ben West, of Portland, who filed a lawsuit in 2013 with partner Paul Rummell to overturn Oregons same sex-marriage ban that went into effect in 2004.
The majority of the Republican Party has opposed gay marriage, making Wehby a maverick in her party.

The folks we could choose in the primary are out of it. We now have either a Republican with a mixed bag of political positions or one of the most extreme liberal Democrats in the country.
Not voting is a vote for the Democrat.

Dr. Ben Carson endorsed her in the primary. She defeated an experienced, conservative Republican. That’s why I’ll never vote for Carson. Never!

Ben Carson is a cardboard cut-out, and nothing more.
People put him up to stand for things he has never srood for, and do not understand many of the things he does stand for, like gun prohibition.

I will not vote for a socialist democrat such as Merkley, nor will I stand aside and allow him to win by default. I voted for the best candidate in the primary and put $100 into his campaign.
He lost.
Now time to vote for the better candidate, far from perfect, but clearly better.
.....and at least she isn’t a lawyer. Way too damn many shysters in Oregon politics.
I will continue to try to politically destroy liberal republicans, in the primary or in the general election.
I'm not buying into the time-pressure sales technique the republicans are so good at.
It's not a matter of perfect, I just won't vote for someone that stands 100% for everything I stand against.
