Ray Rice and Janay Palmer can be heard shouting obscenities at each other, and she appears to spit in the face of the three-time Pro Bowl running back right before he throws a brutal punch in a video shown to The Associated Press by a law enforcement official.

The video, shown to the AP Monday night, includes audio and is longer than the grainy TMZ Sports video released earlier that day...

Drop the mortgages and I’ll take what is left over and never work again.

RE:”I seem to remember some ash trays getting airborne.”

Don't get Hillary mad and if you do duck fast,
but still no video of Bill knocking her out in response.

However vast this amount may sound to most of us, in the ‘fast lane’ where celebrities live, it’s gone before you know it. The first 10% goes to his agent; then there’s the publicist, the lawyers, etc.

They can’t live in a typical suburban home, gotta have an outsized McMansion with its own bb court, umpteen car garage (filled) and all multi-thousand dollar suits, not to mention the bling. Gone in a flash!

I am a 73 year old guy who has been involved in sports my whole life and is still actively competing. I loved to watch football, b-ball, & baseball. I have not watched any of these sports since the thugs arrived. I enthusiasticly watch hockey (go Rangers) & tennis. I also miss the Aussie rules football we used to get. I can not support these new era athletes. I will not give credence to the lifestyle by watching and thus contributing to their paychecks.

That is a problem I could deal with ...

I could have written your post word for word. Really.

Except I’m a little younger (49), now only watch hockey (Jets fan), hate all the other sports I used to obsess about.

A real man would have simply walked away and called of the engagement.

Whatever. He could live in a very upscale gated community in any larger Texas city or better yet buy a large chunk of rural property and build in the middle of it. What most of these losers don’t want to give up is the parties, being noticed on the street, and being in the circle.

Wait a minute you are missing a lot of facts. He already admitted having a fight with her and there was a video of him dragging her unresponsive body out of the elevator. They both said she passed out from alcohol and that he didn’t punch her. That was clearly a lie as she was knocked out from a punch to the head in the now released video.

I'm not defending the guy. I'm sure he's a scumbag and a liar. He had previously admitted a fight and clearly dragged his GF from the elevator. He was given a punishment for domestic violence and then a larger than policy suspension because of the video but then he and his now wife are now banned from making a living based on nothing more but a video of him punching her without benefit of a trial and defense. Even Beyonce's dad is saying that the famous Jay Z beatdown in the elevator was staged to increase ticket sales for their concerts. I'm just saying that I would hate to be judged for my actions based on nothing more than a piss poor video with no context.

Yes,you certainly could say that. But going back to the spit in the face...assuming,for the sake of argument, that she wasn't justified in doing so (IIRC she was drunk too) it's not right to do that.I think that it might even qualify as assault and/or battery...although not an especially grievous form of assault.

We already knew video cameras were racisss. Remember the NJ Turnpike study on the racial breakdown of speeders?

Using the “logic” of the left, why are we applying laws made by the white power structure to a black man? Has everyone forgotten about slavery?

In 1984-ish doublespeak, equality means different rules for favored minorities.

Also, has anyone heard from the players union? Don’t they have to OK it before management can even look sideways at a player?

What does the NFL scorecard say on the count of black vs. white players disciplined for wife beating? I smell disparate impact.

Is this going to become a new fantasy league stat to track?

Are those wife beater sleeveless T-Shirts prominently featured on every episode of COPS now out of style - replaced by a certain NFL jersey?

If the blow and fall would have killed her, he would have been guilty of manslaughter, not murder because she charged him imo.

They both need to get help.

I think you're right. But from what I've heard, he spit on her twice, she then spits on him and charges, he clocks her in the face.

I know it's conjecture, but it's my current understanding of the situation.

I posted a link to video in a previous post of him spitting on Browns' DL Phil Taylor last year.

I wasn’t being sarcastic. To me, it looked like she charged at him to strike him and he punched her. Not saying he should have punched her, but she shouldn’t have charged at him to strike him, either.

They both need to get help.
