Ebola virus is spreading exponentially across Liberia as patients fill taxis in a fruitless search for medical care

Boy, that is one heck of a vector for spreading - the seats of the taxi become infectious agents for the next few customers.

I'm not sure. I haven't visited England since 1977, and that was only for a couple of weeks.

Their UKIP voters seem to be as outraged as our TEA Party at the systemic dysfunction and decline. The big difference is their subjects don't have any rights to self-defense, and their sub-humans are very at-ease with their criminal behavior, knowing that the liberals will bend over backwards to keep the criminals in business, and keep the media cover-ups going.

In the USA, whites make up 72.4% of the population; blacks are 12.6%.

In England whites make up 85.4%; blacks are 3.5%; Asians (UK code for muslims) are 7.8%.

Slightly different set of problems, but the liberal commies in both places started the problems, and continue to be the aggravation.

England 2011 censuses recorded the following ethnic groups:

Ethnic group 2011 population 2011%
White: Total 45,281,142 85.4
Asian or Asian British: Total 4,143,403 7.8
Black or Black British: Total 1,846,614 3.5
British Mixed: Total 1,192,879 2.3
Other: Arab[note 2] 220,985 0.4
Other: Any other ethnic group 327,433 0.6
Other: Total 548,418 1
Total 53,012,456 100

"as patients fill taxis"

What could possibly go wrong?

A man from Minnesota was financially well off. He went to Liberia to be an instant bureaucrat. Ebola spread in Liberia.

As soon as he found out that he had Ebola, he headed as fast as he could for Nigeria: oil production country with previous problems with rebels causing worl oil price hikes. Almost as if going there had been part of his plan. The big shot acted bizarrely in Nigeria, claiming that he didn’t have Ebola, urinated on Nigerian nurses, etc., assuring the spread of the disease in Nigeria. No more rebel problem causing investor/bankster fears over Nigerian oil production and world oil prices.

Here’s another note from reading news over the past few weeks. Enterovirus-68 was much publicized in Kansas City. But it was in Colorado first (more cases in Denver than in K.C. and at about the same time) and California before that (public news: search the Net for polio-like conditions and enterovirus-68). It apparently traveled quickly along or near I-70, maybe, until it went past Kansas City somewhere and ended up in the southeast before spreading out from the quick route. But it appears to have made a beeline across the middle our country very quickly then into the southeast.

That’s my reaction too.

Most people don’t know what a semi-log plot is used for. It’s used to show the progression of numbers from small to big in a short period of time. If your semi-log plot shows a straight line, it’s exponential.

The WHO reported over 300 new cases in a single reporting period, and for the first time the reporting period only spanned a single calendar day. By Sep 30, we will be at 6000 open cases.

This reflects a global R naught of 1.5. If it turns out we hit 6000 PRIOR to Sep 30, then the global R naught has increased.

The rule, so far, is that the number of open cases is doubling every 30 days. This has been consistent going back to May.

WHO isn’t counting an outbreak in Congo, because it appears to be a ‘mixture’ of Ebola Zaire and Ebola Congo that did the killing. What they haven’t commented on was whether the symptoms developed in the same way they have with Ebola Guinea.

Anyway, no kidding to the journos that finally realize this is off the chain now. Thanks for finally noticing.

Monrovia population is one million. Infected families are crisscrossing the city looking for treatment. And Liberia is not quarantined.

I think we’re looking at some serious population decimation from this outbreak. WHO was saying totals upwards of 20K potentially ... I think that’s going to prove to be way low.

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Actually, millions of Americans live in deserts and even grow stuff in them. Witness California, where all that farmland is turning to dust, due to a lack of the usual water rations. That is obviously an arid climate.

But yes, to your point, if we stopped giving them food, maybe they would at least get an irrigation system going and grow their own food . . . if their governments will let them.
