Loaded ammo doesn’t require hazmat permit for some reason. Powder and primers do.

If you have something that shoots .223 or 7.62x39 and will shoot the cheap Russian stuff it will take a while.

I can reload .223 and 9mm for about $.22 and 30-06 for about $.50 with store bought bullets.

If you cast your own the price drops to $.06 and $.21 respectively.

Just remember when you couldn't get ANY ammo for ANY price. A $30 Lee Loader would be worth it's weight in gold.

The town where I live, on an island in SE Alaska, has two hardware stores. One of them gets a shipment about once every other month. They allow two 50 count boxes of .22LR per customer. I get two. Wife gets two. 200 rounds total every other month if we get to the store before they run out. No one who sells on line will ship here.

Otherwise, Alaska is pretty good for a gun nut and there are not many places safer from terrorist attacks, race riots or ordinary crime. When the SHTF we won’t be worried about hoards of big city refugees coming in - can’t get here by driving.

Ted is not stating this to make a profit. This is what he truly believes.

I don't think Uncle Ted has to worry about making a profit. He seems to know EXACTLY the market he wants to sell to, judging not only from his interesting choice of products, but also from what he does NOT sell.

Have a gun and if one does not have a gun, at least a blade.

I agree. I wish more people were like Ted. I just took issue with any assumption that his opinions were based upon making a profit from his ammo sales, ‘which is a silly assumption.

>> This is what he truly believes.

No doubt, but the “Ted Nugent Ammo” connection was just so obvious & I couldn’t help but poke a little fun.

Hi Ivan, your wife may appreciate the Kel-tec P3AT which served as the basis for the design of the LCP .380.

The trigger weight is 3.5 lbs on the average, not 8-9 like the LCP which is one of the major complaints.

The Kel-Tec gets a bad rap because most people don't break it in properly. 100 rounds is the break in period as stated in the manual. Once you get past that, with proper maintenance it's a fine weapon and very manageable for a lady.

As always, it's subjective to the individual, however I think she'll like it.

Cheers and good luck...

I was just recommending the Kel-Tec when I saw your post.

What do you think about it? My personal opinion is that it's a fine weapon and has a very manageable trigger weight. For such a small weapon, this contributes to the overall handling and accuracy under duress.

It was like Goldilocks and the 20 beds finding just the right gun for her. But when she picked up the Sig and racked the slide, she said this is the one. We bought it and went straight to the range. Several mags later she said she loved it. Several hundred rounds later she still says it is perfect. Carries it regularly using a belly band holster from thewellarmedwoman.com. Wives, girlfriends and daughters should look at the holster. She also loves it.

I think Mrs. Frog might like one of those. I’ll have to see if there is a range around here where she can try one out.

The wife and I visited your fine state in July - August of 2013.... gotta say you live in what has to be one of the most spectacularly beautiful parts of the world.

We rented a plane out of Skagway during our trip and flew a few hours inland to a remote water inlet where we landed and docked the plane. Watched some grizzly bears on shore across the lake for awhile, loved the wildlife and the scenery, just spectacular.

On the way back to Skagway we saw some homes along the water here and there where folks were living "off grid" and had their own planes and boats for transportation. It was during the flight back that I commented the only folks who were going to survive the fecal matter hitting the high speed rotary oscillator were folks like that.

The co-pilot chuckled and nodded in agreement.
