Saudis building 560 mile long border fence to keep out ISIS infiltrators

Undeterred by political correctness, Saudi Arabia is taking a step that makes common sense, yet has been difficult to accomplish in America: building a border fence. Israel National News reports:

Saudi Arabia has launched the construction of a high-security five-layered fence on the border with Iraq to protect the desert kingdom from “infiltrators and smugglers,” according to state media quoted by RT.

The fence will cover 900 km (560 miles) of Saudi Arabia’s northern frontier,SPA state news agency reported. Watchtowers, night vision and radars will provide surveillance along the fence.

The project was unveiled by King Abdullah late Friday. It was announced the fence’s purpose was to cut the "number of infiltrators, drug, arms and cattle smugglers to zero."

Saudi Arabia already deployed some 30,000 troops to its border with Iraq, after Iraqi forces abandoned their posts on their side of the border two months ago.

In contrast, in the United States, the demographic transformation of the nation (and electorate) into a de facto bilingual society (see: Belgium and Canada for evidence how well that works out), incorporating millions of poorly-educated newcomers who violate our laws in coming here, is treated as an act of God, beyond our control. We just shrug our shoulders, pay more taxes to support food stamps, bilingual education, crowded classrooms, and other costs, as if we could do nothing to stop it.

The Saudi’s build a fence at the first sign of danger from ISIS, but we’ve had drug cartels and kidnappings for decades and we can’t get one even now with ISIS threatening America....roflmto, how absurd is this government?

They’d put any American in jail IMMEDIATELy and let them rot there. Just like what they did to Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmorsesee.

We on the other hand, let them loose and lose track of them.

The federal government can’t build a 2000 mile long fence on the Mexican border, but India built a 1600 mile long fence to keep the Pakistanis out. I guess Americans are not that concerned about border security, but someday soon, they will be.

Perhaps the Saudis should be building fences around their BANKS because they are the ones who are funding these wretches.

It sounds to me like the Sauds want to fund terrorism abroad while simultaneously trying to keep these critters from coming back home to destabilize the kingdom.

A security fence is only “politically incorrect” to the stupid, or the ideologues who manipulate them.

Comparisons are made with the Berlin wall. Those comparisons are enough for the stupid, or willfully obtuse ideologues. Here’s what they don’t mention: the Berlin wall was built to keep citizens in — IOW, the wall made E. Berlin a prison. Preventing citizens from leaving is a human rights violation.

OTOH, security walls, like what the Israelis built along the Gaza border, are meant to keep hostile foreigners out. They don’t keep citizens prisoner — they keep citizens safe. The same could be said for the proposed US-Mexico border wall (or fence).

It’s too bad that so many people are stupid, or smart but evil and manipulative ideologues.

Well, they need to consult the Bush and Obama administrations so that they can be advised that a fence won’t work, and it is racist, and it cost too much, and it is better to just go ahead and absorb the terrorist attacks.
