Scotland's First Minister, Alex Salmond, has dismissed as ''a panic measure" plans to give Scotland greater autonomy, if voters decide to stay in the UK.

Once the oil runs out, the Highland Clearances, part twa, will begin.
Well, according to the Daily Mail it's not only the people of Scotland (read: actual Scots) but also foreign EU residents:
Of course they managed to find someone (some Greenpeace lunatic) named "Herr Mittler"...rhymes with...yep. (Never mind that those Germans are only a small minority of all eligible EU foreigners - the DM never misses a chance.)
Why are they letting foreigners vote?
Let Londonstan and what is left of the Empire sink below the waves.
Good question to ask of any government.
I have no idea why they’d do this either - other than “residency trumps nationality”. Playing to the “greater EU scheme” that would like to see all national interests abolished.
Remember that Scottish politics seem to be mostly socialist.
If the vote outcome is close enough that the foreigners decide, will the people accept its legitimacy?
Then let it be so. Texans see the Scotsman as scrapers, independent and freedom loving.
Wouldn’t be a moment too soon we Texans rid ourselves of this federal behemoth lording over our republic.
Awl (oil), cattle/livestock, technology, agriculture, tourism, libation. Scotland and Texas will be just fine!
Scotland is not a bit like Texas, sadly for Scotland.
Whatever nostalgia drives that perception of similarity, it is obsolete.
Texas would arguably benefit from losing the bureaucratic overhead of the USA, but the Scots are unhappy that they have an insufficient degree of socialism. Based on previous revealed preferences, left on their own they would go for more socialism. Until they go broke.
Texas has big cities that are full of welfare crowds and leftists

U - BET!
.
But they aren’t the bulk of the voters, yet.
I have been in Texas. What keeps you sane is a huge suburban population that continues to override the cities.
I’ll give you that point. Far too socialist, however when you speak to ordinary folks out in the countryside, they’d shed this nanny state mentality all together. At least that is the impression I get speaking to the average working stiff.
I think we should export them to other cities in other states, maybe get some productive people in return.
The voters are in the cities.
Even more machine operated and dependent than in the US.
Most voters are in the Rustbelt lowland towns and cities.
You bet. It’ll become significantly safer to walk in London at night. Most of the under bridge dwellers are Scottish, mentally ill, could then be deported and strain their resources and crap up Edinburgh instead.
Add that a yes vote would give Conservatives a lock on both Houses of Parliament, at least until Cameron does something stupid.
I presume it's a secret vote, so who knows? Yeah, exit polls and all that, but lots of people lie in those, and that foreign vote thing has been played by the DM to its own devices for all I can tell (standard DM M.O.). Not that I much care either way.
It might affect the sales though. One major producer publicly backed the no side.
You are talking crap!
Scotland will always be Scotland and my very good friend, bless his big soul, who married a lovely girl from the big T will be dancing a partying the night away. Good bless Scotland and Texas.
