This will be very odd to mention, but What-A-Burger has really good salads... nice mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese... I would get the side salads with no dressing and just eat it with my fingers as a snack.

I worked at a CJ's for a short time back in the late 70's, and I remember the checks always had a corporate address in Anaheim, or somewhere nearby.

Started in Los Angeles with a push cart, or booth. First drive-thru location in Anaheim if I recall.
In the 60s it was on the circuit of cruising drive-thrus along with Bob’s in Whittier, Harvey’s in Downey, I think.
Probably several others. We cruised back and forth between Bob’s in Whittier, and McDonalds in La Habra, both on Whittier Blvd.
