Following The Anti-Oil Money: Tides, Dicaprio, Saudi Arabia?
Poletical ^ | September 2nd, 2014 | R. Rados

Journalist James O'Keefe recently tricked actors Ed Begley Jr. and Mariel Hemingway into accepting fake Middle Eastern money to help fund an anti-fracking film in Hollywood. Neither Begley or Hemingway knew they were being duped and secretly filmed. Both actors agreed to hide the fact that their film would be funded by Middle Eastern interests. O'Keefe also captured Hollywood producers explaining methods of hiding the funding, referring to various “non-profit groups” that would help keep Middle Eastern funding under wraps. The full undercover video can be watched right here.

The idea that Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia would invest in such propaganda makes sense. Saudi Arabia is a major oil supplier to both the United States and Canada. They also ship some of their oil to China, where Canada's contentious Northern Gateway pipeline is eventually supposed to ship Canadian bitumen...

Truth is, with fracking enabling access, the US has larger oil reserves than anyone in the world, including Saudis. They’re not going to go down without a fight. “Fracking will end the world!” Lots of misinformation out there about it...earthquakes and short-lived wells. BS. What will the Saudis and everyone else in the Middle East do if no one needs their oil? Pound sand. Drill baby, drill!

Help me out here. Who snookered who? Yeah, whatzizface fooled Hollywood into thinking they were accepting Arab money; but the anti American produced energy movie still got made, didn’t it? And American skulls full of mush will still have more mush pumped into them in the theaters, won’t they?

A pretty darn flimsy “victory” IMHO.

Hollywood big shots and actors like Ed Begley Jr., Fran Drescher and Ed O’Neill (Al Bundy).

Ha! He’s such a big shot they have to reference a role he played 25 years ago.

Last I saw Ed Begley was when he blew up in Spinal Tap and Fran Drescher? I never saw the Nanny so I just remember her asking Newbomb Turk a very personal question.

No mention of Chevy Chase?

It is very hard saving the world. These rich and famous elite NEED their private jets, gigantic mansions, and huge luxury yachts. When you have the entire weight of the world population and planetary destruction on your shoulders you have to forgive them for the luxuries they lavish on themselves. It’s for our own good. Now get back to work peasant.

Got a link to info showing that? If it references the Green River, that cannot be produced by hydraulic fracturing. Completely different than what we have in Bakken, Eagle Ford, Permian, etc...

No. Not referring to Green River. Eagle Ford and Permian (Sprayberry) and horizontal drilling mostly. These are not the articles I originally read, but say the same thing in a dumbed down version.

So the first link makes your claim, but only if out reserves are 10 times greater than reported with no basis for the claim.

The second talks about production not reserves. There we are greater producers of oil only if you pretend condensate, natural gas liquids and biofuels are oil.

The third talks about a large amount in a single field that mostly uneconomical to produce, that amount is not reserves. Oil in place that cost more to produce than it is worth is not counted as reserves.

I believe they are most definitely 10 times greater. I know mine in Martin County are enormous. The wells aren’t even horizontal either. Brand new. It’s not hard to get at. Permian is a monster, completely underrated. What are you a Saudi or something. What’s the problem?

I know mine in Martin County are enormous.

And you believe they are reported at a tenth their actual reserves? Why would you think they and every over field is reported that way?

Permian is a monster, completely underrated.

Yeah, those oil companies that has been producing there for decades have no idea what they actually have < /sarc>

What are you a Saudi or something.

I have a couple decades working in the industry. I am accustomed to basing design and plans on reality, not wishful thinking.

Well there you have it. So why are you harassing me? Do your own research and convince yourself of whatever it is you want to believe. I’m not asking for your opinion or input. I care not and am not the one pursuing this conversation, “expert.”

So why are you harassing me?

You post claims 10 times greater than any reports and when asked to support that claim, you consider that harassment?

Do your own research

Done. That is why I know your claim is silly.

I’m not asking for your opinion or input.

Perhaps you would be happier not posting in public forums.

I care not and am not the one pursuing this conversation

God Bless and have a good day.

No. I consider you constantly posting to me when I have no interest nor have ever had any interest in talking with you. You dispute the articles all you like. You asked for them. I provided a few. If you are truly in the know on US oil -- and I doubt you are because of your unwillingness to do your own research -- you know it is undervalued due to a large number of factors, including politics.

You have a nice day as well.
