Logically, one would think so, but see post #10 and understand why Major Hassan was able to kill 13 soldiers before the MPs showed up.
Had they been armed, it would've been one or two and the Major piece of fecal matter would be worm food now.

The base might be ready but a soft target would be Univ of TX at El Paso. Remember, it’s so close to the border they’ve had to shut down when the gangs get a bit too hyper and send bullets into the campus buildings.
