I don't know about actual building codes regarding "sovereign" Indian structures, but I do know that they are NOT subject to standard fire codes....we have quite a few Injun casino/hotels in our valley and the local paper did an expose on this subject a few years ago.
A Riverside County fire inspector was quoted as saying he'd shut the whole place down, during a visit with the reporter to one of 'em.

I agree! It would be a great way for all kinds of people to see more of the canyon. If I wanted to hang out with a sweaty stinky animal, I’d still be married.

They like the monopoly they have on it now. My husband hs applied for a permit to do an overnight hike in the canyon about seven times. He's been denied each time.
It's about $25 to even drive your car into the canyon now.
