Democrat's exit roils Kansas Senate race
The Hill ^

Democrat Chad Taylor has dropped out of the Kansas Senate race, according to local reports, complicating Sen. Pat Roberts’s (R-Kan.) reelection fight.

ADVERTISEMENT Local outlet Kansas First News is reporting Taylor, the Shawnee County district attorney, said he submitted papers to withdraw himself from the ballot at 4:15 p.m. Central Time Wednesday, just 45 minutes before the deadline to exit the race.

The race is now a three-way battle between Roberts, independent Greg Orman and libertarian Randall Batson. Now, Taylor’s exit may create more of a headache for Roberts, who has emerged as surprisingly vulnerable in recent weeks, with multiple polls showing him holding just a single-digit lead in the race.

The GOP incumbent emerged from a contentious primary fight with his campaign coffers depleted and his profile in the state bruised due to a heavy focus from his primary opponent on questions of whether he actually lives in Kansas.

For those of us with responsiblities like running businesses, making payroll, working hard to get ahead, we do not have the luxury to be the purest of pure. We have to live in the real world and get the best thing available, not pie in the sky fantasyland. I get the impression that the purest of pure are retired from the rat race with their govt checks. When the Democrats impose more and more burdens on us in the dreaded private sector, it is no skin off their ass. If I did not have the responsiblity of keeping my business going in this rotten economy, maybe I could have ripped Romney a new one while he was the middle of the fight with Obama.

Your right, and the NY Yankees were a terrible team in the late 90’s.

Bob Dole may have to make a trip to Russell to shore up Roberts for November 4.

And in 2016 Democrats are expected to win at least five Republican Senate seats. HRC has it made in the shade.

I agree it seems likely a Game is being played on the people of Kansas. A democrat with a real chance of winning drops out, why?

Here is one you can ponder— Hillary or Jeb Bush? Which one will send YOUR son to die in a stupid war? Both!! That’s right. Your son might die in July with hillary or September with bush. Time to go fish.

If the Democrats replace him, it is because this guys skeletons are about to come crashing out of the closet. If they don’t, the independent is in the bag for Harry Reid. The party came to him and gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse, probably a high paying no show job at the Clinton Foundation, mid 6 figures a year I would guess.

The criminal gang of Democrats strikes again. Pat Roberts spent millions defeating the tea party, now he’s currently powerless against the “independent” candidate.

These red states really need to start understanding the implication of their votes for these Democrats masquerading as independents.

Harry Reid will stop at NOTHING to hold on to power like the rat that he is.

Same thing happened to Tommy Thompson in 2012. He exhausted his money in the primary and limped to loss against some no name lesbo.

Plus control of the Senate will moderate candidates for the Supreme Court in the last 2 years of Obama...

Great example.

I don’t like Romney any more than the next guy.

What do you think would have happened in Benghazi had your son been Christopher Stephens and Romney (or even Jeb, or McCain for that matter - that’s 3 I’m no fan of) had been president

1. You’re son wouldn’t have been there in the first place.
2. Because there would have been no Arab spring
3. The protesters would not have been funded to try to pull off what may well have been a staged kidnapping gone wrong.
4. Irag and Afghanistan would still have an American presence.

.... I could list 100 things that wouldn’t have happened even under Mitch M as president!!!!

Even Romney wouldn’t have given the country his version of Obamacare.

You’re not thinking straight. The McCains, Romneys, Bush’s - they ALL suck. But there is so much that wouldn’t have happened over the past 6 years, such a drastic slowing in the Evil. Still evil - but slower evil.

This cliche sky-is-falling thinking doesn’t do anyone good, and in fact it’s hurting the cause. You work with what you have. Tea Party candidates are performing better and better as some in the US slowly come out of their slumber. It’s not a problem with the Tea Party - it’s a problem with the US voter. They remain in a coma. They may not be ready in 2016 for a Cruz, but the country is becoming more and more ready for a Cruz.

Anyone who thinks there is no difference between the NET RESULT of 8 years of Hillary vs 8 Years of even Jeb Bush is not thinking clearly.

Let me ask you this:

I can give you Ebola untreated for 4 years or I can give you HIV untreated for 4 years. Don’t choose, and you get Ebola.

Think it through. Choose Ebola explicitly or passively, and you die in a couple weeks. Choose HIV, and you stand a chance of making it through 4 years, even of reversing it’s course.

God fearing people often have to choose a lesser Satan, for a time, if only to let God work, or to buy time for something to change the game.

We need to buy time, buy a slower death, in hopes that God steps in during the meantime. Maybe in the form of some in the US coming out of the coma, or to let Tea Party thinking (rational, critical thinking for Americans’ own good) take 5% more good.

To buy that time, we need to choose the lesser evils if that’s all we’ve got right now. Even if it makes us want to puke.

That is an excellent point. Anyone who has been in office for decades needs to go and that is one reason why he is having trouble - the been there too long argument has gotten some traction.

You are correct - another excellent point. I completely forgot about the Supreme Court. However, with Obama, I'm not certain he will moderate any choices, but if he makes another selection, we will have to wait and see.

Well put my friend. What I want is a good solid conservative candidate and for all the wobbly obama hugging Rinos to vote for that pure conservative as the “lesser of two evils” and like it!!

We are completely on the same side.

To be honest, I’ve been on both sides of this one. If I spent my days thinking about pulling the lever for a GOPevil, I’d be sick all day.

But would I do it if I thought it would keep the comatose patient alive for another 4 years? Arrgggghhhhhhhhhhh. I won’t know until that day.
