ABC to Phil Robertson: 'Would You Consider Yourself a Homophobe?'

Although Phil Robertson appeared on Tuesday's Good Morning America to promote his new book, reporter Ryan Owens couldn't resist portraying the reality show personality as an anti-gay bigot. Owens reminded viewers of the Duck Dynasty star's interview with GQ where he called homosexuality a sin. Owens pressed, "Would you consider yourself a homophobe?" [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
Robertson retorted, "I'm as much of a homophobe as Jesus was. People who are participating in homosexual behavior, they need to know that I love them." ABC has not been consistent in pressing liberal celebrities about their controversial views. GMA hosts have repeatedly hyped Rosie O'Donnell without questioning the comedienne's 9/11 conspiracy beliefs.

"I'm as much of a homophobe as Jesus was."
I love it. He should have added, "And I'm as much of a homophobe as Barack Obama was in 2008, and you thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread."

He answered it correctly. But the question is similar to “have you stopped beating your wife.” The premise is wrong as the individual is guilty from the start. Never be afraid to say you will not accept homosexuality as “normal,” if you do you are trapped. We can love the individual as Christ commanded, but where are we if we accept their lifestyle as “normal?” It is not, it is a sin as the Bible says. The individuals who ask this question never want to answer the paramount question: is homosexuality wrong, and if not why? Waiting for that to happen but I will not hold my breath.

Well, you know it’s a double-standard with the Left. That’s why feminists will call Sarah Palin the c-word and black race-baiters will call black conservatives Uncle Tom.

FTA: "GMA hosts have repeatedly hyped Rosie O'Donnell without questioning the comedienne's 9/11 conspiracy beliefs."
Well, we know a thing or two about Rosie O'Dumbass. When she first appeared on The Skew, she bought the old Helen Hayes estate in the quaint village of Nyack,NY one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in Rockland Cty. Well, her and her "significant other" sold the place a couple of years later and moved to Greenwich, CT. The reason, she wanted her children to grow up in a "safer environment". In other words, they were living a little too close to the village's Section 8 housing, and living in such close proximity to the "riff raff" and other "undesirables" is beneath our little Rosie. Another EFFING hypocrite celeb.

“Homophobia” is an idiotic word. By its roots it means “fear of the same”. It can only mean what those who use it want it to mean if folks with homoerotic predilections are called “homos”, which seems to be regarded as a slur by people with homoerotic predilections.

The ONLY way to deal with smug, liberal reporters is to shove it back in their face, with style and with wit. If you get defensive, you’re toast.

I endured a PP sex Ed class (by my own choice) in middle school. The woman went on and on about anal sex and how to choose condoms. She even told us about flavored ones. All the other Sex Ed courses I took were purely scientific and informative without encouraging kids to participate. The PP one told my fellow 8th graders and I how to glean as much pleasure as you can from sex. It was quite distasteful.

“I pray for their medical treatment to full health.”
Do you mean psychiatric treatment or medical treatment of HIV?
For the former, the Left considers the entire concept of deprogramming homosexuality to be a form of hate.
For the latter, there is no cure, only alleviating symptoms. I lived in a building in DC in which a collection was taken for treatment for a middle-aged man very sick with HIV/AIDS. Once he got better, I notice he was having young male visitors who never were seen more than once or twice.
You really have to be a selfish bastard to base the center of your being upon what you do in bed and who you do it with.

It might be as high as 3% if they include
all deviants, including the gender confused.
A fair share of that 3% may also choose celibacy and lead a reasonably normal life.

More like 1-2% and keep in mind the polls ask the question, “Have you ever had any same sex contact in your life?” This could include being sexually abused as a child or drunk lesbian college experimenting. That counts as part of that 1-2%. So the actual number is likely less than 1% are actually homosexual.
“Homophobe” is an example of the ‘attack against the person’ fallacy in debate.
After market research, the term “Islamophobia” was invented to accomplish the same purpose.
Rather than address the legitimate concerns (early death, disease, sexual abuse, etc.), the problem is now with the person raising the questions.
It’s a slick political linguistic maneuver but nothing more.

Do you know how the host responded to that incredible answer?

"Homophobia" is indeed a moronic term. If you use the same logic and apply it to homosexuals, they would be labeled "heterophobic" and would be damned as being "heterophobic." But, as far is I know, that term isn't even recognized as a word. Maybe we should coin it as a description of homosexuals.

You are correct. A phobia is an irrational
fear of a given thing. Homophobes would have a fear of homosexuals and I don't know of any that fit that category.
I would class myself as a homonauseate...a person who feels the need to puke when exposed to a homosexual.
Even then, it only affects me when they get too close and are trying to "recruit" or those who think it's cute to talk like Charles Nelson Riley.
