I don’t think they could fly non-stop from Libya to North America anyway, that is why they are worrying these planes could be a terror threat in North Africa.

I'd consider that more likely targets would be in Europe or Israel.

American, British, Israeli embassies.

Most European countries have very advanced military intercept capabilities. Not likely a jet liner would find itself over their airspace especially if their beacons and communications are off or disabled and the whole ded-gum world knows to look out for them.

Places in Africa are far less advanced and would be easier targets.
