The Gospel is a simple message. Have faith in Christ as clearly written in the Gospel.
I'll answer your question, but I doubt you'll answer mine.
I am a sinner. I sin daily. I am not proud of that but that is the truth. I find that, like Paul noted, no matter how good I try to be, I mess it up somewhere.
I take Christ as His Word when He says He cleanses of our sins if we confess them to Him.
I take Christ at His Word when He promises eternal life to those who believe in Him and Him alone.
I take Christ at His Word when He says salvation is a gift from God and there is NOTHING I can do to earn it.
I take Christ at His Word when He says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
I take Christ at His Word when He says He made us alive together in Him, having forgiven us all of our transgressions having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us having nailed it to the cross.
There is no way, no way in the world, I can ever hope to be good enough to earn my way into His Kingdom. It is only through His shed blood that I have the hope and promise of eternal life.
I do try to produce good fruit for Him as He tells us to. Sometimes the harvest is better than other times.
You think you have to do something to be saved....some good work(s). Here is a simple six question test. A pass means you have completely kept these 100% of the time without ever failing. No wiggle room...no little sins. 100% faithfulness is the only way to pass. On a pass/fail basis only, grade yourself on the following:
Honor your father and your mother
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
You shall not covet your neighbor's house, his wife, or his male servant, his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
