Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) release video apparently showing beheading of US hostage, Steven Sotloff
----
David Cameron has said: "I've just seen the news. It's an absolutely disgusting and despicable act and I will be making a statement later."

I didn’t realize Jarrett was such a corpulent little piglet.
No, that is a myth.
At one time, during the Iran-Iraq war we gave Iraq intel on the location of Iranian military sites at a time Iran was targeting US flagged oil tankers, and trying to launch speedboat attacks on our ships. It was a way to let two regimes we had no love for- Iran and Iraq- weaken each other with minimal effort on our part, certainly not an alliance with Saddam Hussein. Saddam Hussein then attacked an Iranian nuclear site, while Israel took out Iraq’s nuclear site. Also at that time we were more heavily dependent on Iraqi oil because Iran had not long before been taken over by the mullahs.
The US has backed the Kurds against Saddam Hussein and his Baathist party since Richard Nixon’s presidency.
I can not make my mind - is Jen Psaki a genius who masterfully plays the dumbest person in America, or she IS the dumbest person in America who does not realize the world goes ROTFL on her replies to the press? She is becoming a celebrity on social media. When Psaki was on vacation thousands of followers of her Dumb and Dumber show were sincerely concerned what happened to her.
“It seems that kicking out Saddam was a major dumb ass move....crap has only gotten worse since then, now we have a worthless pos leader... just great!”
I believe the American people were sold a bill of goods in Obama. I believe he is a Muslim Trojan horse. Remember Obama is the one who got rid of Ghadaffi(sp) in Libya and Sadat in Egypt. Currently trying to overthrow Assad in Syria. He allowed groups like ISIS to grow. IMHO he lost the peace and all we gained in Iraq.
The US has backed Saddam since 1958.
The answer is no. See my reply.
Pictures of Rumsfeld with Iraqis notwithstanding, our policy was to support the Kurds since Nixon’s time and to use Iraq to fight Iran and vice versa. The policy was to maintain a balance in the region in order to keep the price of oil stable and not have our economy crippled by energy prices and availability. Having Iraq bomb an Iranian nuclear site is worth a handshake.
Saddam had no love of us because he knew darn well the US and Israel backed his Kurdish opponents.

(Saddam was the USSRs bloody dictator. That’s why his arsenal was full of Soviet weapons along with French and Chinese weapons.)
Yep, dumb as for not turning the whole place into a glass parking lot. Oh wait, the dumb asses wouldn’t let us.
A clarification about the mistake was made by Uyun al-Ummah account, that has published the video before the official time.
The user saw a tweet with the video and thought it was published officially. We tried to remove the video after we understood that his was published by mistake, and we are sorry to the followers of the Islamic State.

ISIS did exist in Iraq when Saddam was in power as did ANO, Abu Nidal’s group. It just had a different name then just as it is trying to change its name now to ISIL.
AlQaeda also existed in Saddam’s Iraq- Saddam Hussein’s regime gave safe harbor, a pension and a house to one of the conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Cennter bombing and also took in one of the conspirators in the USS Cole bombing who had attended the Malaysia terror summit where the attack was planned on the ship in January 2000.
"Steven is a journalist who traveled to the Middle East to cover the suffering of Muslims at the hands of tyrants. Steven is a loyal and generous son, brother and grandson," his mother said in the video that aired Wednesday. "He is an honorable man and has always tried to help the weak."
One of his favorite quotes:
"We Americans like our adversaries wholly inhuman; all powerful, omniscient, monstrously efficient, unhampered by any serious problems of their own, and bent only on schemes for our destruction. Whatever their real nature, we always persist in seeing them this way. It is the reflection of a philosophic weakness of an inability to recognize any relativity in matters of friendship and enmity." -- George Kennan
All this from someone who called himself: a "stand-up philosopher from Miami."
I wonder what are these useful idiots doing in war-torn countries? My pity for them is pretty shallow. Are these so-called journalists graduates of OWS and Brown U.?
Has that brainiac Eric Roberts blamed Bush for this one, too?
The Soviet Union backed Saddam since that time. They used him to undermine the US ally the Shah of Iran.
You've saved me a lot of time replying to those assertions, which would have been nowhere near as good.
Fantastic posts; and free to boot!
In fact the Ayatollah Khomeini was harbored in Iraq before he moved to France, Iraq’s other arms supplier.
Our little boy President isn’t one bit disturbed by this.....GOLF AWAITS!!
True, but they didn’t rampage through the countryside grabbing territory, destroying churches, and killing everyone in their path as they are now doing.
