We work with a mission organization in Kiev. They are ministering to many Ukrainians who have fled the Russian advance. They have been through horrible things.(Physical harm, hospitalization, hunger.) Please don’t make fun of people or assume these are lies if you haven’t been there.

I did not make fun of anyone as there is indeed a lot of suffering going on there but I will assume that if not lies then stretched truths for most of what is on display in the media for the simple reason that there is an obvious propaganda effort going on (both pro-Ukraine and Pro-Russian). I have no doubt that all sorts of tragedies are taking place on a personal level as this is a civil war/war by proxy/possible covert invasion but that is to be expected during an armed conflict and especially when the combatants are inter-mixed like they are in the Ukraine.
My heart does go out to all those that are suffering persecution, not only there but around the world. But, and this is a big but, I will not subscribe to the type of blatant propaganda that’s going on that appears to be trying to either get the west involved in yet another war or to be used to justify sticking our nose in where it does not belong. We have no national interests in what happens in Ukraine and really hardly any economic interests so it does not make any sense at all that we should be beating the drums of war and the sooner we get out of it the sooner things there will be resolved (although probably not to our liking) and the sooner these people can get back to living a peaceful life.
